Explore the options and find the best fit for you. Board of DirectorsThe KRPA Board of Directors serves as the governing body of the Association. The Board provides leadership, oversight, and direction to ensure KRPA stays true to its mission and serves the needs of its members. Board members are responsible for making key decisions, guiding long-term goals, and supporting the overall growth and success of the Association. Branch BoardsKRPA is made up of eight Branches— Administration, Aquatic, Park/Natural Resources, Park Law Enforcement, Recreation, Sports, Wellness, and Youth Services. Each Branch brings together members with shared interests and specialties, giving them a place to connect, learn, and lead. The Branches exist to support KRPA’s overall mission while giving members a stronger voice in the Association. They provide leadership opportunities, organize workshops and trainings, and help raise awareness of the profession. Each Branch is led by a seven-member Board elected by its members, ensuring that every area of parks and recreation is represented and has a chance to shape KRPA’s work. 2026 - 2029 Branch Board Application CommitteesKRPA’s five committees give members the chance to guide important areas of the Association’s work. Each committee focuses on a specific priority, from planning events and trainings to supporting students and advancing leadership opportunities. Committees help shape the direction of KRPA programs, foster collaboration among members, and ensure the Association continues to meet the needs of parks and recreation professionals across Kansas. WorkshopsWorkshop Planning Committees are created to design and deliver training opportunities for KRPA members. These committees identify relevant topics, recruit knowledgeable speakers, and organize the details that make workshops successful. Their purpose is to ensure each event provides practical learning, professional growth, and meaningful connections for attendees.
