SHARP = Successful Hands-on Applications for Recreation and Parks. This workshop will give you the opportunity to choose from 4 branch workshop options to learn new skills.

Overall, the goal of this session is to allow the professional to create recreation programs that matter. Part 1: 
Let's explore the exciting world of non-traditional sports! Step outside the boundaries of conventional athletics and discover a whole new realm of physical activity and entertainment. This session is perfect for those seeking fresh and exhilarating experiences beyond the usual sports offerings.

Aquatic Session: CEU 0.1
Part 1: During the aquatic session , members of the Aquatics Branch will provide an overview of various Swimming Lesson Programs, including Swim America, WSI, Swim Angelfish, and privately developed programming. Gain insights into each program's features, teaching methodologies, and best practices, equipping you with valuable knowledge to enhance your swimming instruction skills.

Wellness Session: CEU 0.1
The session will also address common mental health challenges, such as anxiety, stress, and low mood, providing practical tips and coping strategies that can be applied in everyday life. We will encourage open dialogue and provide a safe space for participants to share their experiences and learn from one another.

Recreation Session: CEU 0.1
Hear from veteran programmers from various sized agencies on how they succeed, challenges they faces, and how they adapt with available resources. Plan on using these new skills to develop an unique program idea for your community! Learn how to come up with new program ideas, find instructors and develop their schedules.

1:40 pm - 2:40 pm Breakout Sessions
Sports Session: CEU 0.1
Part 2: During this action-packed session, you'll have the opportunity to engage in a variety of unconventional sports and games that will challenge your skills, coordination, and teamwork. Get ready to unleash your competitive spirit and have a blast trying out exciting non-traditional sports.

Part 2: A continuation of the previous aquatic session, members of the Aquatics Branch will provide an overview of various Swimming Lesson Programs, including Swim America, WSI, Swim Angelfish, and privately developed programming. Join us for an exciting and engaging session on sensory planning specifically designed for kids that can easily be adjusted to adult sensory! This interactive workshop is tailored to enhance sensory experiences and promote development in children. Through a variety of fun activities and expert guidance, we'll explore different sensory inputs and how they can positively impact a child's learning and overall well-being.

Recreation Session: CEU 0.1
You don't know what you don't know. Continue to hear from the panel on how to develop and plan a brand new activity or program with your group. Brainstorm together, plan it, program it, and then present it.  Walk away with a list of new program ideas to help trigger their ideas.

9:00 am - 3:00 pm Tactical Care Under Fire
Park Law Enforcement Branch Workshop
* Lunch Included

The session presents the three phases of tactical care under fire:
- Hot Zone/Direct Threat Care that is rendered while under attack or in adverse conditions.
- Warm Zone/Indirect Threat Care that is rendered while the threat has been suppressed but may resurface at any point.
- Cold Zone/Evacuation Care that is rendered while the casualty is being evacuated from the incident site. 
Includes the following topics: Hemorrhage control including immediate action drills for tourniquet application throughout the course; Complete coverage of the MARCH assessment; Strategies for treating wounded responders in threatening environments; First Aid for civilians and self care tactics.
