Academic Scholarship Application

The Kansas Recreation and Park Association (KRPA) is a non-profit, professional organization representing the parks, recreation, and leisure industry in Kansas. We represent nearly 1,400 professional, commercial, agency, board/commission, student and retiree members throughout the state.

In an effort to further assist and secure high-quality recreation and park professionals in Kansas, the KRPA Board of Directors will provide one $4000 scholarship to a junior or senior student attending a Kansas university or college with the intent to enter a Recreation and/or Park field upon graduation.

Application Deadline is May 1, 2023

Who should apply:

  • Students entering their junior or senior year in the fall of 2023
  • Student must be enrolled in a Kansas university or college
  • Student’s intent is to enter the Park and Recreation field upon graduation

Application Process:

  • Application open - March 1st
  • Application deadline - May 1st
  • Winner notified - June
  • Distribution of funds- August

Terms and Conditions

  • Scholarship recipient is required to attend the Student Summit at the KRPA Conference in late-January
