Kick off conference week with a casual night out! Join your KRPA friends at Johnny’s Tavern near the Downtown Hyatt for an informal meet-up. There’s no formal agenda or hosted meal—just a place to gather, grab your own food or drink, and catch up with friends from across the state. Come as you are and stay as long as you’d like! Time: TBD
Tuesday, January 26 – The Amazing KRPA Race
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: Oldtown Wichita
Think you have what it takes to race across downtown Wichita, crack the clues, complete the challenges, and beat the competition? Inspired by The Amazing Race, the Amazing KRPA Race sends teams throughout downtown Wichita on a pub crawl filled with clues, challenges, and unexpected twists. Gather your team, put your problem-solving skills to work, and see who can successfully complete the challenges and post the required pictures to be entered into a drawing to determine the winning team!
Not ready to race? No problem. Take the bus to Oldtown, grab dinner and or drinks, cheer on the teams, and enjoy a night out with your parks and recreation friends.
Team registration will be sent out to conference registrants at a later date.

Wednesday, January 27 – Kentucky Derby Party Social
Time: 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Location: Conference Center
They’re off! We’re bringing back the Kentucky Derby Social—and this time, we’re keeping the party right here at the conference! Break out your best Derby hat and join us for an evening of virtual horse races, a live auction, a Black Jack fundraiser, and plenty of fun following the KRPA Awards Dinner. We’ll cap off the evening with an amazing pyro drone show from our friends at Victory Productions. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the people who make parks and recreation happen across Kansas and end conference week with a little style, a little competition, and a whole lot of fun.
