Parks and Rec Pathways Academic Scholarship Application

KRPA is committed to increasing access to education for students pursuing careers in parks and recreation. The Parks and Rec Pathway Scholarship is a $5,000 one-time scholarship awarded to a student demonstrating financial need.

Application Deadline is May 1, 2025

Who should apply:

  • Students entering their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year for the fall 2025-2026 school year
  • Students must be a Kansas resident
  • Students must be enrolled in a Kansas college or university
  • Students pursuing a degree in parks and recreation, natural resources, outdoor education, sports management, or a related field
  • Students who demonstrate financial need

Application Process:

  • Application open - March 1st
  • Application deadline - May 1st
  • Winner notified - June
  • Distribution of funds - August

Terms, Conditions, and Criteria

  • This scholarship is awarded based on financial need.
  • Applicants must submit a personal statement explaining their financial need and how this scholarship will impact their education and career goals.
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, or mentor is required.
