Trail Design, Construction, and Maintenance
This workshop will be an intro into trail design, construction and maintenance with an emphasis on sustainability and ease of maintenance. Leaving this workshop you should have a basic understanding on the process of trail building to further singletrack in your community.

Instructor: Derek Buckridge, Johnson County Park and Recreation Construction Supervisor/Singletrack Manager, President of Urban Trail Co.
Derek is a veteran trail builder from the Kansas City metro. He started his trail building career as a volunteer trail builder with the Urban Trail Co. in 2012. Before taking his position with JCPRD in 2021, Derek was the Trail Steward at Big Bull Creek Trails in Gardner, Ks. Trail Building has since transitioned into his daily job where he now manages the Construction and Singletrack Department. Derek holds a Master Trail Builder Certification as well a Mechanized Trail Building Certification.

Substitutions: We do allow substitutions. If you are unable to attend the event, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please notify us of any substitutions at least 48 hours prior to the event.
Registration Fees: All registration fees must be paid in full within 30 days of registration. Failure to pay within this timeframe may result in the cancellation of your registration.
