Rules and Regulations
To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation in The Locker Room.
By using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions, shared files and content that are best suited to the medium. This is medium should be used to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions should be directed to KRPA office at jamie@krpa.org. In order to preserve an environment that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to put Locker Room members in jail (see Forum Fundamentals), suspend or terminate membership for anyone who violates these rules.
Rules
Respect others. Focus on the content of posts and not on the people making them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to a “Water Manager” post (we all started out there); there is no such thing as a stupid question.
Respect the purpose of the community. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals; NOT of products or services that you provide. If you have found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group in a respectful way.
Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the discussion groups and in the libraries is available for all to see. Comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator.
When posting in our collaborative environment, please indicate if the item is not available for reuse. It’s also advisable to contact the owner of any material if you would like to reuse it.
Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate communities. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response by eliminating "noise."
SPAM and solicitation will not be tolerated. The use of this site to send e-mails or messages selling products or services to KRPA members or in competition with KRPA services and products is not allowed. Doing so will cause the individual or company sending the message to be permanently removed from participating in “The Locker Room.”
Discussion Group Etiquette
State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
Keep your posts relevant to the forum category. Stay on topic. If you want to change the topic in a thread, please start a new post.
Be professional. Use correct spelling, grammar, and avoid slang. Do not use all caps and avoid using more than one exclamation point. Write concisely and avoid rambling. Do not post empty responses such as “lol” or “cool.” Do not use texting language (abbreviations). All words need to be spelled out.
Be civil. Do not post hateful, illegal, or any content which violates a copyright. Personal differences should be not be discussed publicly and should be handled through email or private messaging the other person.
Send messages such as "Thanks for the information" or "Me, too" to individuals, not to the entire list. Do this by using the reactions or message the individual privately.
Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list,” to the group. Instead, use the web interface to change your settings or remove yourself from a list. You may change your notifications by clicking on edit profile, then notification preferences. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your settings or email jamie@krpa.org.
Keep private information private. This is an easy guideline to accidentally break. As everyone knows, we are privy to a lot of private information in this field. Sharing any sort of identifying client information; any information on specifics surrounding insurance reimbursements, etc are all in violation of antitrust laws. If you are not sure if your post will violate this rule, send the KRPA office a message at jamie@krpa.org.
What Should NOT Be Posted
Your postings may not include any promotion of products or services that are directed at KRPA Professional Members. These communities are for information sharing only, not sales.
Your postings may not include any promotion or services that are in direct competition of KRPA's products and services.
Job announcements or jobs wanted should not be posted to a discussion group. Please post these to KRPA’s Career Center.
